Believe for Joy

Here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Don’t give up; don’t be impatient; be entwined as one with the Lord. Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope, keep on waiting—for he will never disappoint you (Ps. 27: 14)!

The challenges of our lives seem to be getting bigger and bigger. Do you feel things in the atmosphere of our country are majorly shifting? The social and cultural upheaval we are experiencing may cause you to pine for the past when things appeared stable. Don’t lose heart amid the disruptions you are facing. Sorrow and grief abound in this world, but in Christ, joy is before you. Will you focus on the trouble or the satisfaction you believe will come in a little while?

Press through to joy in prayer and perseverance and go on to know the Lord. Jesus endured the shame of the cross for the joy awaiting Him. He will never see the suffering of the cross again as He sits exalted by His Father’s side. How was Jesus able to do that? He knew the power of prayer, and He practiced it daily. Our Savior understood how easy the soul gives up and quits. But He also knew that through earnest petition and supplication, He would triumph not giving in to temptation.

We must be one with Jesus. He is our peace and our victory, and it is His joy that will make us strong. Whatever your fear or the upsetting situation you face, set your mind to look ahead for the joy that awaits you. Be patient and expect a future that will not disappoint you. Disciples of Christ are brave, and they see things through the lens of hope which gives them the courage to believe that the best is yet to come!
