Heavyweight Champion
For our momentary, light suffering is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison.
2 Corinthians 4:17 (NET 2nd Ed)
What the devil thinks will break you can be the catalyst to make you. The suffering all humanity endures is inescapable. But scripture reassures us that our Lord does not willingly bring sorrow or grief to anyone, Satan, on the other hand, delights in the heaviness of your pain. He wants you to blame God for it because he does not want you to believe God loves you and is for you.
Every heartache we go through will either draw us closer to Christ or drive us apart from Him. Will we hold tight to our faith to see the victory on the other side, or will we depart from it due to our disappointment? Will we repeatedly cry, “Why,” or say, “What’s next, Lord?” Our choices in life can either refine or decline us.
When you are going through hell, don’t stop, friend. Let go of your sorrow. Don’t give the devil glory by focusing on it. Please do not make a monument to it; instead, see it as a momentary light suffering that produces an eternal weight of glory in you. If you frame it this way, your faith will grow, and your character will develop. You will be a heavyweight champion in your witness and works in Christ.
