Pregnant with a Promise
God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a human being, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not make it happen?
Numbers 23:19 (NET)
We have a good heavenly Father. He is the God of the promise; unlike a man who signs off on a commitment but later breaks it. He does not change His mind by saying “yes” today and “no” tomorrow. The situation you are in may appear hopeless. Be encouraged because every circumstance is subject to change. Amid the impossibilities you face, the Holy Spirit is within you, and as you listen to His voice, He will never lead you astray. He will remind you of the faithfulness of God and tell you the Lord will never fail you. The “promise of the Father” is the Holy Spirit. He guarantees all the Lord has for you in this life and the one that comes after!
The Hebrew word for sow means to conceive or become pregnant. The word of God is the seed we must conceive and birth out in our life. It is full of divine promises that are ours if we can receive them by faith. We must cling to them tightly and never let them go. We have an adversary that works against us. He plans to discourage us to doubt so we will abort the seed. The Holy Spirit will guide us and comfort us in times of despair. He will bring to birth the seed of God we have planted in our hearts. Without a close relationship with Him, we will fail and, worse, give up on our promise.
Always remember the Lord is not slack in fulfilling His promise to you. One day to Him is like a thousand, and a thousand days are like only one. As a mother whose child is developing in her womb, you must remain patient, knowing hidden goodness is within you. When the time is right, the Lord is faithful to bring every promise to bear.
