Return to Remain

“This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says: Return to me, and I will return to you...” Don’t be like your ancestors who would not listen or pay attention.

Zechariah 1:3-4 (NLT)

Do you know you were in the Father’s heart before the foundation of the world? He formed you in your mother’s womb and watched over you as you grew. He created you in His image and likeness. He has also seen every work of the devil penetrate and mar your soul. He is very much aware of your every weakness and those of your ancestors. Yet His love is set upon you. Every time you have left Him for another, He patiently waits for you to return.

Though your iniquities are like crimson, the Lord can make them white as wool. Return to Him, and He will return to you. His promises remain faithful, for they are always “Yes and Amen.” Don’t be afraid to come back to the Lord. His mercies are new every morning. They will never cease, and you activate them as you reach for His hand. He will pull you out of the miry clay and place you on solid ground. Great is His love for you. He desires that you would love Him as He loves you.

Only Jesus, our Savior, can destroy the sin in our life. He is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. Almighty, is He! Separate from Him, we can do nothing. Repentance is impossible without the Lord’s grace in your life. Your part is to believe He is able. He has the power to illuminate your thinking and transform you into a person who thinks and acts like Him. Ask yourself, “How do I live apart from Him?” In what ways do I “Blaze my trail” and “Through it all, do it my way?” Holy Spirit will help you to turn back. A slight turn of your head prompts the Lord to move toward you.

God, in His great mercy, calls us back to Him. Who is a God like Him that delights to show compassion and sweeps away our offenses like a cloud? Return to the Lord, not for just a day, but return to remain.
